Oney Hall managed to nab a confidence-building win versus softer company last week at Woodbine Mohawk Park, and upon returning to the Preferred ranks at the Campbellville oval he was ferocious for trainer Bob McIntosh.
Trevor Henry blasted Oney Hall to the lead in the $36,000 feature and the six-year-old son of Deweycheatumnhowe-On With The Show motored through fractions of :28.2, :56.4 and 1:24.3 before using a :28.1 closing panel to win by 4-1/2 lengths over race favourite Perfetto in 1:52.4. Taking home third prize in the six-horse affair was Pikachu Hanover.
Alan Leavitt of Lexington, Kentucky owns the 26-time winner who now owns a 2-0-2 record this season from six attempts. The $18,000 payday lifted his lifetime earnings to $362,004.
