Shes All In, with breeder-owner-trainer in the bike, took top honours in Pompano Park’s $8,500 Open Trot for Mares on Tuesday night, covering her one mile journey in 1:54.3.

The gutsy eight-year-old daughter of Revenue S out-dueled Modern Mercury, handled by Peter Wrenn, to score by 1-1/4 lengths. M T Ur Pockets, driven by Mike Simons, sat at the back of the pack around the final bend before closing with ferocity to finish third.

At the outset, Shes All In (post 3), Bad Angel (post 5) and Serendipitious (post 6) all had their sights set on the top spot with Bad Angel sprinting to the front around the first turn before yielding to Serendipitious at the :27.1 opening panel.

Shes All In continued a cozy third at this point as Celebrity Artemis was next with Modern Mercury on the move past the half in :56. On the backside, Serendipitious continued to show the way as Modern Mercury took up the chase to reach second, Bad Angel content to sit tight in third with Shes All In wending her way out and sprinting widest of all turning for home.

At mid-stretch, Modern Mercury stuck her head in front but Shes All was in overdrive and sprinted on by in the final 16th for the victory—her second of the season in 12 starts, sending her seasonal bounty to $16,385.

After the race, driver Plano said, Having bred this mare and raised her, she’s very special to me and very good to me over the years.

“She tries so hard every start and likes to be in the thick of the fight from start to finish. She’s a warrior, no doubt about that.”

The win was number 30 in a career stretching 208 starts, good for $310,043.

Off as the sixth choice in the field at 16-1, Shes All rewarded her faithful with a $34.00 win mutuel—the largest win payoff in her career, her previous highest win payoff being $28.60 at Hoosier Park on August 28, 2015.

Pompano Park’s Pick-6, with a record carryover of $16,997 going in, had a final pool total over $52,000 on Tuesday night with the 1-6-3-6-3-6 returning $11,708.05 for the 50 cent ticket. There were four tickets out on the winning combination.

Racing continues on Wednesday night with mares in the spotlight in the $10,000 Open Pace.

Jets Are On is listed as the 8-5 morning line favourite and will have the driving services of Wally Hennessey. OK Heavenly (7-2), Miss Dollar Man (7-2), Goldstar Rockette (9-2), Gweneeee J (6-1) and Machin Marley (12-1) complete the field.

Post time is set for 7:20 p.m.
