Oney Hall sprinted in the stretch to win the $26,000 feature trot at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Monday evening (March 20).

Oney Hall (Trevor Henry) got away fifth off the car as favourite White Tiger took command of the field to the :28.1 quarter. Pikachu Hanover never made it to the rail and quickly advanced to take over the lead after the opening panel. After the half in :57, the outer flow was led by a charging Shadrack Hanover. Oney Hall followed the cover in a second-over trip as they clocked the three-quarters in 1:25.2. Pikachu Hanover was still on top, but was met eye-to-eye by Shadrack Hanover on the outside. In the stretch, Oney Hall moved three-wide. The seven-year-old gelded son of Deweycheatumnhowe fended off opponents from all sides to win by a head in 1:55. Tokyo Seelster (Sylvain Filion) charged late along the pylons to grab second and White Tiger (James MacDonald) finished third.

Oney Hall paid $10.70 to win.

Chantal Mitchell trains Oney Hall, a winner of $495,894 in career earnings, for owner Alan Leavitt of Lexington, Kentucky. Oney Hall bumped his record up to 29 wins, 13 seconds and 10 thirds in 94 career starts.
