Monochromatic Ekes Out Dover Win

Monochromatic had just enough to hold off fast-finishing No Bad Luck to win the $27,500 Mares Handicap Pace in 1:52.1 on Tuesday at Dover Downs

Corey Callahan steered the seven-year-old daughter of Dream Away-Miss Ty, trained by Dylan Davis for North State Street Stable, to her second win in her last three starts. No Bad Luck steamed down the lane to within a nose of the winner with Montrell Teague driving. Docdor Libby, with Ron Pierce in the bike, took third money. Monochromatic has won $423,110 lifetime and $34,525 of that total this year.

Mach Lady improved her career speed record to 1:51.3 scoring a decisive victory in a $19,000 Mares Winners Over Pace. Owned by Ken Wood, Steve Iaquinta and Bill Dittmar, the Mach Three-Tampa Town four-year-old, who dropped down from the Open class, won for the third time in four starts and fourth in six outings for trainer Eric Ell. Village Bolero (Ross Wolfenden) was second with Star Keeper (Corey Callahan) third. Mach Lady has won $33,060 in 2012 and lifetime, $213,472.
