Officials with Dover Downs have announced that the track is raising purses.
There will be a 20 per cent purse increase for the balance of Dover Downs’ current meet, which is set to conclude on April 14.
Via release, the track has announced that on Mondays the Preferred pace will feature a $36,000 purse, while the Delaware Special races will be contested for $33,000. Open paces will be raced for a $24,000 purse.
The Filly/Mares Open pace will boast a $24,000 purse on Tuesdays. On Wednesdays, the Open Trot will have a $24,000 purse.
All races will include a 20 per cent increase.
The purse increases do not affect the upcoming Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund three-year-old events, which are set to begin in late March and feature $20,000 preliminaries. The top eight finishers from the preliminaries will qualify for the $100,000 finals for colt and filly trotters and pacers.
