It wasn't a misprint if you noticed the name of Louprint on some 2026 stakes eligibles lists.
Retired after his award-winning and triumphant sophomore campaign to commence stallion duty in 2026, Louprint appeared as one of the 47 horses eligible to this year's Canadian Pacing Derby at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
Where there's smoke, there's fire. Absent from some of the summer stakes events at The Meadowlands, Louprint was revealed as one of the 30 horses eligible to the FanDuel FFA Championship in November.
Could a late season return to the races be in the cards for the two-time Dan Patch Award winner? The trainer of Louprint, Ron Burke told Trot Insider earlier this month that there was talk of a four-year-old campaign for the decorated pacer but those plans were scuttled this past weekend.
"We just made the decision today to take him out of stakes," Burke indicated on Sunday — March 15, the sustaining payment due date for the Canadian Pacing Derby and FanDuel. "Breeding is going great and that's the priority."
Louprint (Sweet Lou - Rockin Racer) amassed a career summary of 17-3-1 from 22 starts with a mark of 1:46.3 and earnings in excess of $2.4 million. He is owned by breeders Burke Racing Stable LLC, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and Phil Collura, with Larry Karr joining the partnership for his sophomore season.
