Outlaw C My Shadow made it eight straight wins with another dominating performance in the $10,000 Open Handicap Pace at Fraser Downs on Friday night (March 17).
Leaving from the outside post five, Outlaw C My Shadow chased the gate away to open up a quick five-length lead for driver Brandon Campbell. No one could keep up with the 1-9 favourite as he reeled off fractions of :27.3, :57 and 1:24.2 en route to the 1:52.4 triumph. Finishing 4-1/4 lengths behind the winner, Waitin Ona River (Kevin Anderson) rallied from the backfield to place while pocket-pursuer Buddys Hope (Allan Molloy) held off the passing lane plunge of Pureform Mr Toffee (David Hudon) in a photo for show. Outlaw Duke Worthy (John Vukelich) complete the quintet.
Continuing his win streak that started last November, Outlaw C My Shadow has gone six-for-six this year while adding $30,000 to his bankroll. A career winner of 18 races, the six-year-old Shadow Play-Grand Slam Woman gelding has earned $165,322 lifetime for trainer and breeder Connie Kolthammer, who shares ownership as part of the Outlaw West Stable.
Outlaw C My Shadow paid $2.10 to win. There was no place or show wagering.
