In what can only be described as a recklessly dangerous protest, on Thursday, March 17 an individual made his way onto the stretch at Cheltenham Racecourse and just missed getting trampled by horses
finishing off their runs.
According to a report by The Sun, an individual looking to make a statement against the sponsor of one of the races on the program got onto the raceway during the race and held out a sign in his outstretched arms as thousands of pounds of horseflesh galloped by him.
An accident did not ensue, and no horses or jockeys were harmed during the incident.
The article quotes rider AP McCoy, who had a mount in the race, as saying, "'It's a good job he didn't bring me down. I would have knocked him out."
McCoy went on to say, "I had my head down and only saw him out of the corner of my eye. There's always one idiot."
