Morrill, Jr. Debut In Buffalo Friday

Jim Morrill, Jr. is scheduled to return to the sulky for the first time in 2010 this weekend at Buffalo Raceway. Morrill will be involved in 25 of 26 races at the Hamburg, New York oval this weekend.

The 2009 leading UDR reinsman in North America has been installed as the morning line favourite in 12 races by the track's director of racing, Robin Burns. The question for the bettor is: Do you play him or play against him?

The 45-year-old Morrill, Jr., who moved to Hamburg with his family in 2005, has dominated the western New York harness circuit since arriving from the Meadowlands. Morrill spent a lot of time on the stakes circuit last year and it paid off, as it produced a career year in earnings.

On Saturday, Morrill will drive in all 13 races, including the final of the Bret Hanover Series where he will guide Benzley Mindale from Post 6. He will have his work cut out for him, as the two-horse National Artchive/Patch Adams N entry has been installed as the morning line favourite in the eight-horse field.

Also on Saturday Buffalo Raceway will host a qualifying round for the National Harness Handicapping Contest. Complete information is available on www.buffaloraceway.com

Racing is scheduled to take place Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at the track, with first post scheduled for 6:40 p.m.
