Hitting the board in his four starts this season, Jk Panache claimed victory on Saturday, March 17 at Saratoga Raceway, winning the $12,000 Open Pace in 1:53.1.
Driver Jim Devaux moved the nine-year-old David Dewhurst trainee to the lead early, maintaining an uncontested lead through most of the mile. Moving around the final turn, Jk Panache lost the lead in a minor battle with a first-over challenger, but reclaimed the lead once they faded around the turn. Jk Panache turned for home to win, with Texas Terror N second and Givenupdreaming third.
Winning for the 56th time in his career, Jk Panache, sent the second choice, paid $5.20 to win.
