On Friday, March 14 in Massachusetts, an official groundbreaking ceremony for the new racino expansion took place at Plainridge Racecourse in Plainville.
As a report by The Milford Daily News explains, Penn National Gaming Inc. broke ground for the undertaking. Penn National’s $225-million plan will see a 106,000 square-foot facility built on a 90-acre section of land.
"We’re tremendously excited," Penn National Gaming COO Jay Snowden was quoted as saying at the groundbreaking. "This is a monumental day for us."
State Senator Richard Ross has been a proponent of gaming expansion for roughly 10 years, and was quoted as saying, "I think we're ending up with absolutely the best character (Penn National) to run this facility than we could have hoped for."
