Moving up in class after winning the Open II last week, Chuzzle pulled off a 9-1 upset in the top $10,000 Open Trot facing a field of male rivals at Buffalo Raceway on Friday night

Chuzzle ($20.40), leaving from Post 5 in the field of seven and driven by reinsman Keith Kash Jr., settled in third as The Promised Horse and Ron Beback Jr. cut fractions of :30, 1:00, and 1:30.1. Chuzzle made a strong backside brush, and as the field hit the top of the stretch she took the lead and then drew off by three and a quarter lengths to win in 1:59.3 over Austins Jon Jon and Kevin Cummings. Perfect Man and Dave McNeight III came in third.
The victory was the six-year-old Emile Angus mare's fourth this season in eight starts. The $5,000 share of the winning purse put Chuzzle’s seasonal bankroll at $14,324 and lifetime earningd at $42,454.
Chuzzle is trained Jessica Martin and owned by Harold E. Breidenbach of Lima, Ohio.
