The photo finish equipment was called into action Monday evening at Fraser Downs to help declare the winner in the $10,000 Open Pace for fillies and mares, and when the dust settled it was Uptown Hanover who came away victorious.

Uptown Hanover, in rein to Scott Knight, got away fifth in the six-mare affair while Mrs Suhwiggins blasted to the lead from Post 6 and carved out fractions of :26.2, :56.2 and 1:25. Knight had Uptown Hanover on the move on the way to the half, and by the time the field was at the three-quarter pole it was Uptown Hanover a mere half-length away from the leader.

The 2-5 favourite then used a :29.1 final frame to pull off the nose decision over Moosette in 1:54.1. Crush Me wound up third in the featured tilt.

Trainer Kelly Hoerdt shares ownership on the four-year-old daughter of Somebeachsomewhere-Upside Surprise with Carole Dunbar of Richardson, SK. It was the fourth consecutive score for the 11-time winner who is now 6-for-7 this season. The $5,000 payday boosted her overall bankroll to $186,561.

It was one of three victories on the card for conditioner Hoerdt, who also clicked with Century Mach (1:56.2 - Race 7) and In High Cotton (1:54.2 - Race 9).
