Tim Tetrick was responsible for mapping out a front-stepping score with pacer Sage N in Tuesday’s $24,000 Fillies & Mares Open Handicap at Dover Downs.

Sage N was out-sprinted off the starting gate by race favourite Empress Deo, but Tetrick opted to hustle his charge around that foe right at the quarter pole in :27.3. Sage N worked her way to the top and proceeded to the lead the group through middle panels of :56.2 and 1:24.2 before tossing out a :27.3 closing quarter en route to the neck decision over Empress Deo in 1:52. Matinee Dragon was third.

Scott Di Domenico trains the six-year-old daughter of Christian Cullen-Smart Decision for Triple D Stables Inc, JFE Enterprise LLC and Charles Iannazzo. It was the third win of the season – and the ninth to date – for the career winner of $78,144.
