After a disappointing, ninth-place finish in last week’s $13,000 Open Pace at Fraser Downs, Classy Character pulled up his socks and went home a winner in Sunday’s follow-up effort for trainer/driver Tim Brown.

The seven-year-old son of Shady Character, who entered today’s assignment with more than $282,000 in lifetime earnings, added another $6,500 to his card thanks to his 1:56.4 triumph.

Classy Character splashed his way through panels of :28.4, :58.2 and 1:26.4 over the sloppy oval before kicking home in :30 seconds en route to the comfortable score. It was more than two lengths back to runner-up Armbro Blacktie and third-place finisher, Double L Trump.

Owned by the British Columbia partnership of Sandra Brown of Langley and Jack Thompson of Burnaby, Classy Character rolled to his fourth win of the season in just eight tries.
