Pylon-starter Freddy Bear led at every pole to post a 1:55 victory in the $10,000 Horses & Geldings Preferred 3 Pace on Sunday (March 14) at Flamboro Downs.
Trainer-driver Jason Ryan floated Freddy Bear to the point as the field aligned in mostly post-position order. By the quarter in :29 and the half in :58.3, Freddy Bear faced a challenge up the backstretch when Exit Smiling pulled first over from third. Exit Smiling ranged towards Freddy Bear by three-quarters in 1:27, but abandoned the pacesetter circling the final turn while the seven-year-old Western Terror stallion strolled to a one-and-three-quarter length victory over pocket-sitter Shades Of Bay. About A Boy finished third.
Owned by 1187422 Ontario Inc., Freddy Bear won his 15th race from 126 starts, earning $214,000. He paid $9.10 to win.
Earlier in the card, Emma Christoforou scored her first training victory. In her fifth start, Christoforou sent the five-year-old Sunshine Beach gelding Millenium Seelster to a wire-to-wire romp in 1:55.4 with J Harris in the sulky. Charalambos Christoforou owns the $11.70 winner.
