Organizers of a fundraising dance in support of those affected by the barn fire at Classy Lane Training Centre have announced that the event raised more than $7,000.
The dance took place on Wednesday, March 9 at the Waterdown Legion. Organizer Tammey McEneny was thrilled with the turnout.
"It was a fantastic evening. On behalf of the organizers I would like to thank everyone for attending and those who donated and helped make the event run so smoothly. It went off without a hitch."
The night consisted of a dance, with "great music from DJ Joe Shea" according to McEneny, a silent auction, door prizes, and a 50/50 draw.
"It wasn't a huge crowd but everyone there had a good time," continued McEneny. "It's great to have the support of the community."
