Walter Parkinson of Seelster Farms has announced that a second lawsuit will soon be filed in relation to the scrapping of Ontario’s Slots at Racetracks Program.
A group of Ontario breeders filed a Notice of Action on Monday (March 11) against the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation for damages arising out of the manner in which the Slots at Racetracks Program was cancelled. The lawsuit claims "damages in the amount of $60,000,000 for negligence, negligent and/or intentional misrepresentation, breach of contract, and unjust enrichment" in addition to "punitive, aggravated, and exemplary damages in the amount of $5,000,000." In an article published Thursday (March 13) by Bayshore Broadcasting, Parkinson said that “a lawsuit will be put against the Province.”
Parkinson did not offer a timeline in regard to when the lawsuit will be filed.
