After hitting the board in his last two Open starts at Winsdor Raceway, Ill Tell You What managed to find his way to the winner's circle on Wednesday evening
.
With Brad Kramer in the bike, the 8-5 second choice in the field fired to command in the $13,000 Open Trot and was never seriously threatened as he raced by stations of :28.2, :57.4 and 1:26.2 en route to victory in 1:56.2. Cadillac Kid (Mark Pezzarello), the 52-1 longest shot on the board, followed from the pocket to finish nearly two lengths behind in second and early trailer Bound For Fame (Ronnie Wrenn) came on for third. Race favourite and defending class champion Start Livin (Wayne MacLean) got away near the back of the pack and could not get into the race.
Ill Tell You What returned $5.30 to win for the third time in eight starts this year. Debra Clayton owns and trains the seven-year-old Lockkeeper-Sweet Grammie gelding, who lifted his seasonal earnings to $21,720 and pushed his career bankroll over the $200,000 mark with his winnings.
