Trot Insider has learned that trainer Rene Allard was arrested in Las Vegas, Nevada.

On Monday, the United States Department of Justice revealed the unsealing of four indictments which have collectively charged a total of 27 individuals with 'offenses relating to the systematic and covert administration of illegal performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) to racehorses competing across the United States and abroad.'   Since Monday, two additional participants -- Allard and Richard Banca -- have been implicated, bringing the total number of arrests to 29.

According to filed documents, Allard allegedly sent a text message to Louis Grasso in October 2019 stating "I will need 3 bottles of red Acid to go canada Thursday." Grasso is one of the 27 individuals named in the initial indictment released on Monday.
