According to a report, officials with the Canadian National Exhibition have sent a cease and desist letter to MGM and Cadillac Fairview.

An article by Global Toronto explains that the letter was sent to both the casino operator and the real estate/property managing company because the letters 'CNE' and images of the Exhibition's famed Princes' Gates have appeared in advertisements for the MGM/Cadillac Fairview casino proposal to be located at The Ex.

As the report explains, the cease and desist letter states that CNE officials have “noticed that you have adopted and are making extensive use of images including the Princes’ Gates, CNE, our costume characters, and other iconic images of the CNE to promote your proposal for a casino and resort complex at Exhibition Place.”

The letter goes on to state, “Despite two meetings with your representatives, we have seen nothing substantial that would lead the CNEA to alter its position opposing the location of the sort of complex you propose at Exhibition Place.”
