Trot Insider has spoken with Ray Veeneman, vice president of Operations for Baymount Inc., regarding the

National Capital Region Harness Horse Association meeting which took place last night at the Napanee Legion.

Veeneman said that the NCRHHA members at the meeting approved the negotiated racing contract, ratifying the agreement with a vote of 58 to 2. "We are very pleased to approve final certification and are very anxious to move forward," Veeneman told Trot Insider.

Multiple sources have told Trot Insider that officers from the Ontario Provincial Police were outside the meeting. They were ensuring that only NCRHHA members were allowed to attend the meeting, something which the organization had made clear beforehand.

According to a report by Mix 97, Russ Moulton, NCRHHA executive director, is confident racing will commence at the New Quinte Exhibition and Raceway in 2010. To read the Mix 97 article in its entirety, click here.
