Brown & Winacott Rule The Roost

Mark Winacott and Gord Brown have had their fair share of big days at Kawartha Downs, and Tuesday’s card of

racing can be added to the list.

Brown, who teamed home five winners on the 11-race program, had Winacott to thank for three of them.

They joined forces to take the opener with Mystic Factor (2:00.1), and they returned to victory lane in Race 3 with Bookie (2:02). A romping win in Race 9 with Stepaside Larry (1:59.4) completed the tag-team hat trick.

Brown also clicked with the Laura Winacott-trained Cocktail Shaker (2:03.1) in Race 2 and the Joe Stutzman-trained Silver Bar (2:02.3) in Race 10.

Mark Winacott, who recently joined the 1,000-win club, is quickly closing in on the $5 million mark in lifetime earnings. Brown, a career winner of 2,685 races, is on the verge of surpassing $12 million in career earnings.
