Two weeks after taking over as the Chair of Standardbred Canada, Joanne Colville is excited about the coming year.
“I’m looking forward to being the Chair of Standardbred Canada,” said Colville. “We have recently done a lot of work with management and the Board of Directors to update the organization’s Strategic Plan.
“At this point, our first priority is to name a CEO,” she said. “We are announcing this week a formal search process, and that we, as a board, have engaged a third-party search firm to ensure that process is completed in a thorough fashion.”
In addition to the naming of a Chief Executive Officer, Colville is also in the process of working with Standardbred Canada’s various committees to ensure that they are responsive to member needs and changing industry dynamics.
“As part of our strategic planning, management will be gathering information and conducting surveys to make sure we are listening to the needs of our members all across Canada,” she said. “That will help us shape a road map for future activities.”
Standardbred Canada's strategic plan is focused on key areas which include: Customer/Member value; Technology development; People; Industry Growth/External Relations and Finance/Governance. The summary document can be viewed here.
