Queenies Alibi paced home for her fifth straight win Friday, March 1 in Northfield Park’s opening race.
The seven-year-old is owned by the partnership of Charles Stewart and Gay Bankson, both of Alexandria, Indiana, and is trained by Barry Langley. Tyler Smith has driven the mare for all five of her recent victories.
Queenies Alibi went straight to the front and led at every call through fractions of :28.3, :58.4, 1:28.4 and 1.58, finishing two lengths in front of her closest competitor, The Sweet Dion.
“She was in hand the whole way,” commented Smith. “I have won with her five times and have never kicked the plugs.”
Friday’s 1:58 triumph increased Queenies Alibi’s (His Alibi-Cam Queen-Electric Yankee) lifetime win tally to 21 and her career earnings to $176,195.
Queenies Alibi was heavily favoured and returned $2.60 to win. She continues to enjoy an undefeated 2013.
