Two rival groups are seeking status for a casino vote on next November’s ballot in Michigan
.
A group called 'Racing to Save Michigan' is working on a petition that would legalize eight new casinos, including five at racetracks in the state, and another is seeking casinos in six cities and Detroit’s Metropolitan airport, along with sports betting.
That makes Michigan another state hoping to overturn the federal prohibition against sports bets in all but four grandfathered states, Nevada, Delaware, Oregon and Montana.
