Heavy snow and five fast foes weren't enough to keep Jabberwocky out of the winner's circle on Saturday, Feb. 8 at Woodbine Mohawk Park, as he stayed perfect in 2025 through two starts in the $36,000 Preferred Pace.

Leaving from the rail, Trevor Henry guided Jabberwocky into the fourth position early while No Control (Jody Jamieson) paced around Poseidon Seelster (Bob McClure) to chop the quarter in :27.2. Unable to find a seat on the first turn, Powertrain (Tyler Jones) pushed to the front on the backstretch, leading the field to the half in :57.1. Jabberwocky flushed the cover of Poseidon Seelster entering the final turn, sitting second-over at three-quarters as the leaders battled to that station in 1:27.

The sprint was on turning for home, with Powertrain and Poseidon Seelster continuing to exchange blows while Jabberwocky appeared to spin his wheels midway through the lane. Jabberwocky shifted gears in deep stretch, rocketing home in :26.1 through the snow to surge by the duelling leaders late to score by a half-length in 1:53.3. Poseidon Seelster held for second, with Powertrain finishing in the third position.

The victory was the 16th in the career for Jabberwocky, who is trained by Rick Zeron. Owned by Rick Zeron Stables, James Walker, Johnny Marvento and Earn It To Burn It Stable, the six-year-old gelded son of Hes Watching-Art Sale now sports a career bankroll of $372,320.

Sent off at odds of 9-1, Jabberwocky returned $21.30 for the upset victory.
