Blue Star Admiral now boasts back-to-back Open victories at Fraser Downs after wearing down the pacesetting Rock Allstar in Sunday's $10,500 top class.
William and Dianne Neish's five-year-old pacer sat fifth early on and rushed up to confront race leader Rock Allstar during the third panel. A stretch battle ensued with Blue Star Admiral gaining a short advantage over Rock Allstar and prevailing by a half-length in 1:52.3 over the "good" track. Third prize went to Thedeadliestcatch, who finished two and a half lengths behind off a pocket trip.
After earning just one win in 2014, Blue Star Admiral (Camystic-Movin Uptown) is three-for-four this season for trainer/driver John Chappell.
The 3-5 favourite returned $3.30 to win.
