Horner Elected As Standardbred Canada Chair

On Friday, Feb. 7, Standardbred Canada (SC) elected its Officers and Executive Committee for 2025.

Mark Horner of St. Marys, Ont. was elected as the Chair of Standardbred Canada. An Ontario Track Director on SC's Board, Horner will serve his second term as SC Chair after previously serving in the position for 2019.

Horner has been involved in the harness racing industry for more than 40 years as an owner, trainer, and breeder. Currently, Mr. Horner is on the Western Fair Association Board of Governors and is recently served as the Chair of The WFA Raceway Corporation. 

Andrea Rennison will serve as the Vice-Chair of Standardbred Canada's Board as she did in 2023, while Ann Straatman will serve as the Chair of Breeders Committee.

The 2025 Executive Committee was also elected to serve a one-year term.
