Lickcreek Jazzy Wires Female Foes

Trainer/driver Ed Hensley used aggressive tactics with Lickcreek Jazzy in Sunday’s $12,500 Fillies and Mares Open at Fraser Downs, and the approach paid off handsomely for the distaffer

The seven-year-old daughter of Hi Ho Silverheels battled with Jans Rich Girl to the quarter pole in :27.4 before being released to the top. Once in command, Lickcreek Jazzy sped through splits of :57 and 1:25.4 before finishing off the competition with a :29.1 final frame en route to the 1:55 score. Race favourite Jans Rich Girl was three-quarters of a length back in second, with Doober Hoozzitz rounding out the top three.

J J J Stables of Aldergrove, BC and Hensley of Blaine, WA share ownership on the 25-time winner who has stashed away $314,227 in lifetime earnings. She now owns a 2-1-1 record in her first four starts of the season.
