According to The Prefectural Racing Association, the biggest trifecta payoff in its history occurred Wednesday, February 4 in Japan, after a lucky punter constructed a 100-yen triactor ticket which came in and paid out over 19 million yen.

The trifecta was won at the Funabashi Racecourse for thoroughbreds. Prior to the monster ticket coming in Wednesday, the biggest win had been for 18,469,120 from a Japan Racing Association race in Tokyo in 2005.

Wednesday's record ticket actually paid out 19,110,000 yen, equivalent to $259,746.50 in Canadian funds or $211,484.90 American.
