Half of Toronto residents oppose construction of a new casino in the city, according to a recent poll conducted, but if one were to be built residents have cited Woodbine Racetrack as one of their preferences for its location

The Toronto Star reports that the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation is expected to release a strategic business review of its gaming operations soon, and speculations have been made concerning a push for a Toronto casino.
According to a poll conducted by Forum Research, 50 per cent of respondents oppose a new casino, 35 per cent are in favour, and 15 per cent did not have a preference at the time of asking. The poll also revealed that if a casino were to be built, Torontonians would prefer to see it located at Woodbine Racetrack where gaming already exists or at a separate entertainment site like the Exhibition Place.
