Governor Martin O’Malley of Maryland has indicated that he will not support table games or more slots facilities in
the state.
“I’m not interested,” he told bizjournals.com of Washington, in regard to a suggestion from the panel controlling slots licenses in the state.
Senate President Mike Miller had recently suggested them for Rosecroft Raceway, but O’Malley said the Prince George’s County delegation, representing Rosecroft’s area, had overwhelmingly opposed the idea when it was discussed earlier.
O’Malley said he would listen to the argument for table games, and expansion beyond five sites already designated, “but I’m not at this point in favour of any of that.”
