A new Maritime harness racing podcast launched this week called "Behind the Gate with Scott & Kait," featuring Kaitlyn Wesley and Scott Waddell.
Wesley, a resident of Nova Scotia, has been involved in several initiatives in her home province, including the mini-horse racing events and young drivers' competitions. She has also been involved at Truro Raceway with several promotions and is well known for her passion for the industry and its participants.
Scott Waddell has been involved in the industry for over 40 years and has worked in several capacities in the province of New Brunswick. He is the founder of a popular Facebook news site that follows the exploits of Maritimers both at home and in other jurisdictions.
The podcast's debut episode, sponsored by Advanced Appetite, features Christine-Wright Robertson of the Maritime New Start Standardbreds who shares a passion for horses and is part of an organization that, in part, finds home for retired Standardbred horses. The group has been successful in bringing horses home to the Maritimes, rather than face a dire situation.
"Behind the Gate with Scott & Kait" will run every second Wednesday with the next episode to feature the young drivers of the mini horses.
