Driver Kevin Cummings made two perfect moves with Beachy Dream in Buffalo Raceway's $11,000 'Class A-AA' pace on Saturday night (Feb. 29) and it resulted in a one-length victory over Lucky McTrucky in 1:58.2 over a 'good' track.

Approaching the half mile station, Beachy Dream was sitting third and felt the outer flow developing. Cummings just in the nick of time was able to sneak out and start his first over trip.

Then with a quarter mile to pace, Beachy Dream, still on the rim, kicked it into high gear and was able to enjoy what proved to be an insurmountable lead in the stretch. Lucky McTrucky took second with Hold The Gold rallying for third.

Owned by Mike Torcello and trained by Gerry Sarama, it was the second win in five appearances for the nine-year-old gelded Beachy Dream (If I Can Dream-Beachy Girl. The win increased his seasonal earnings to $15,950 and $254,530 lifetime. He paid $3.90 to win.

In the sub-featured $10,000 Class A pace, Andys Ideal showed plenty of heart in beating Allstar Energy by one-and-a-quarter lengths in 1:57.3.

After relinquishing the lead to Blue On Black hitting the three-quarter pole, driver Ray Fisher Jr. re-energized Andys Ideal in the lane and never looked back in topping Allstar Energy while Blue On Black had to settle for third.

Trained by Don Rothfuss and co-owned by Michael Ouriel, Howard Ouriel and Stephen Vinik, it was the first trip to the winner's circle in 2020 for the six-year-old gelded Andys Ideal (American Ideal-Slainte). The victory pushed his seasonal bankroll to $9,180 and $181,645 in his career. He paid $5.90 to win.

Cummings and Billy Davis Jr. each registered driving triples while Jim McNeight Jr. and Fisher Jr. doubled. Garry Sarama had his second consecutive training triple while Don Rothfuss and Maria Rice each collected two wins.

Racing will continue on Wednesday evening (March 4) at 5 p.m. with a 12-race program scheduled.
