Cyberspace as a yearling

The well-bred trotting filly Cyberspace made her sophomore debut during Tuesday morning's qualifiers at The Meadows.

Driven by Dave Palone in her first start from the Ron Burke barn, Cyberspace followed in third through an evenly rated 1:01.3 half over a 'good' track before advancing through three-quarters in 1:31.3 to take the lead turning for home. She then held on for the 2:02.4 qualifying win by half a length over her late-closing stablemate, the unraced What The Hill colt Rose Run Yorick. A pair of Wilbur Yoder trainees, Spicy Hops and Serenity For Life, followed two lengths behind as early leader Tour De Force completed the top five finishers.

Cyberspace is owned by Buckstone Land Livestock, Howard Taylor, Mark Dumain and Black Creek Farm. A big ticket yearling purchase from the 2021 Lexington Select Sale, the $500,000 Walner filly out of Southwind Serena is a half-sister to the talented duo of Mission Brief and Tactical Landing.

As a two-year-old, Cyberspace made just one start and broke stride in the Kentucky Golden Rod Series at The Red Mile.
