After going home without cheques in three consecutive outings at Woodbine Mohawk Park, Team Hensley gave Itshuwyouknow a change of scenery and the gelding responded with a front-stepping win in Thursday’s $8,500 Preferred 3 for trotters at Flamboro Downs.
Itshuwyouknow shot to the lead for driver/co-owner Ed Hensley, and together they whacked out fractions of :29.1, 1:00 and 1:30.1 before sprinting home in :28.3 to win by a neck over Vesuvio Bi in 1:58.4. Taking home third prize was race favourite Wildwild Men.
Trainer/co-owner Ashleigh Hensley watched the seven-year-old son of Holiday Road-Lukes Elvira win for the first time this season and for the 20th time in his career. The lion’s share of Thursday’s loot lifted his earnings over $280,000.
