Pacific Princesses Invade Fraser

A trio of $25,000 Princess Of The Pacific divisions headlined Saturday afternoon’s card at Fraser Downs with Im Bossy, Midnight Diva and B Bar Marilyn taking home the trophies for their respective splits

Im Bossy took command of her division posting a 1:54.1 wire-to-wire win giving trainer/driver Bill Davis his third on the card.

Leaving from Post 4, the five-year-old Power Of Art – One Of Kind princess carved out fractions of 26.4, 56.4 and 1:25.1, and then held off the pocket sitter, Hot Night (Brandon Campbell), for the win by half a length. Shes Got To Go (David Hudon) finished third.

Im Bossy ended her four-year-old year on a high note with three back-to-back wins for Ed Hensley then made the switch to Davis’s barn where she has since recorded two triumphs earning $17,750 for the J J J Stables of Aldergrove, B.C. and Alan Anderson of Willows, California. Her 14th lifetime win bumped her bankroll to over $70,000.

In the second split, Midnight Diva rallied from off the pace to score by a neck in 1:54.4. for trainer/driver Gord Abbott and the Meadowlark Farms of Calgary, Alta.

Midnight Diva, a five-year-old daughter of Dragon Again – Melbourne Breeze, was last away from Post 7 while Modern Legacy (Keith Clark) took to the front posting a sensible :28.4 first quarter. The parked Kg Mist (Rod Hennessy) then moved into the lead while Midnight Diva tipped to the outside en route to the :57.4 half.

Still on top, Kg Mist rolled past the third quarter station in 1:25.4 as Judges Acenthehole (Jim Marino) angled out from fifth providing Midnight Diva with cover. Judges Acenthehole claimed the lead in the stretch, but Midnight Diva surged past for the win by a neck. Got The Munchies (Bill Davis) picked up third.

The win was her third in seven tries this year giving her $25,925 in purses. Midnight Diva, a winner of eight races, pushed her career earnings over the $100,000 mark tonight.

In the fastest and final division, B Bar Marilyn scored her first win of the year with trainer Tim Brown in the bike.

Owned by Sandra Brown of Langley and Jack Thompson of Burnaby, B.C., B Bar Marilyn shot off the gate from post position No. 4 and circled the 5/8 mile oval laying down fractions of 28.1, 57.3 and 1:25 en route to victory in 1:53.4.

Furious Five (Billy Davis, Jr.) closed well finishing a half length back in second while Greek Beach (Scott Knight) was third.

The seven-year-old Presidential Ball – Pink Beach mare, who has earned over $200,000 in purses, notched her 27th career win.
