Post time favourites have been clicking at nearly 47 per cent this season but that percentage took a beating as just two betting choices were able to find the winner's circle on the 13-race card.
It took until the 10th race for a favourite to register a victory as Sportsman, given the betting edge by just eight dollars, managed to post the $7.30 win. Then, in a race later, Feets Of Magic put up a $4.00 score to soothe the chalk players but that was it.
The average win price was $11.95 with Francessa the highest at $34.20 with Kevin Cummings in the bike.
It was a great night for driver Drew Monti as the 20-year-old posted a four-bagger. Monti currently sits fifth in the Buffalo Raceway driver's standings.
John Cummings Jr. added a triple on the program while Jimmy Whittemore and Jim McNeight doubled.
The semi-finals of the Niatross Knockout Claiming Series highlights the 13-race card on Saturday night at Buffalo Raceway along with the $9,500 pace. Post time is set for 6:35 p.m.
The Niatross Knockout Series will go off in the eighth and ninth races. The top four finishers in each leg will return next Saturday night for the $25,000 final while the others will battle in the $10,000 consolation event.
In the first division, One Chaser is the 8-5 morning line choice off the inside post with Kevin Cummings in the sulky. One Chaser has three victories in four starts thus far this season. Delightful Caitlin starts from the four post for Ron Beback Jr. and is the second pick at 7-2.
Shaolin Master is the early 3-1 pick in the second division. Scoring from the two post for driver Jimmy Whittemore, Shaolin Master will have to battle second choice Dragon Ridge, who gets the services of Billy Dobson.
Nothingbutmach heads the field in the $9,500 pace with Shawn Gray aboard. Nothingbutmach will start from the three-hole and is the 3-1 early selection in the opener on the night.
