Vogler On Lawrence Downs Delays

Lawrence County Commissioner Dan Vogler has provided an update regarding the Lawrence Downs racetrack and casino in Pennsylvania’s Mahoning Township.

An article on timesonline.com explains that progress regarding the proposed racino has been slow.

The report has cited Vogler as saying that officials with the state’s gaming control board have recently been pre-occupied with the current licencing process relating to a stand-alone casino in Philadelphia; but that the officials have also been conducting background checks on Endeka Entertainment, which holds the specific harness racing licence for the proposed Lawrence County track.

The article has cited Vogler as saying that he expects the gaming board to focus its full attention to the proposed Lawrence Downs track after the Philadelphia casino issue is settled.

The report concludes by quoting Vogler as saying, "The next step, when it will happen – we don't know yet, but we hope it will be this spring – is to have a public hearing in Mahoning Township.”
