Refusing to sit anywhere but on top, Armbro David forged his way to command and never looked back en route to capturing the $13,000 Open Pace on Sunday at Windsor Raceway

In a three-horse battle for the lead, Armbro David and driver Marc St. Louis took control from the inside, but his stablemate Talk Dirty To Me (Brad Kramer) eventually cleared to command at the :26.3 quarter mark. However, Armbro David swept back out to take over in front of the grandstand with Jebswesternshake (Kody Masse) hot on his heels. 'David' hit the half in :55.2 with Jebswesternshake looming, but shook him off by the 1:23.4 third quarter station. He opened up by three lengths around the final turn and cruised home for the 1:53 triumph. Talk Dirty To Me finished second and last week's winner Justa Cowboy (Ronnie Wrenn) came on for third.

The nine-year-old Blissfull Hall-Armbro David gelding, who has won four of his last five starts, is trained by Jessica Roegner. He was plucked from a $4,000 claiming event at Northville Downs on Nov. 5 by owner Matthew Percy of Canton, Michigan. The 27-time winner now boasts a career bankroll totalling $232,528.

The 8-5 favourite paid $5.50 to win.
