The Night Styles Series got underway on Thursday evening at The Meadowlands, with a pair of $16,000 divisions on tap for four-year-old mares

Teenage Paige used her closing skills to take her $16,000 assignment in a sharp clocking of 1:52 for the duo of driver Tim Tetrick and conditioner Eric Ell.
The four-year-old daughter of Real Desire cleared to command coming off the final turn, and she managed to hold off a deep stretch challenge from Get That Cheese en route to posting the 5-1 upset. Get That Cheese was second and race favourite Milly Me N was third.
The victory was the third win of the season in four starts for the mare, who now boasts $92,829 in lifetime earnings. She is owned by Kenneth Wood, William Dittmar Jr. and Stephen Iaquinta.
The second division went to Lightning Treasure, who prevailed for driver Ron Pierce in a time of 1:52.4 after sitting a perfect, pocket trip for the majority of the mile.
The four-year-old daughter of Western Ideal, who was sent off at odds of 4-1, got up in the final strides to defeat Perfect Sport and Stacked Deck.
It was the third win of the season in eight tries for Lightning Treasure, who is owned by the Lightning Stable of Roosevelt, NJ. The lion’s share of the purse bumped her overall bankroll to $69,210.
Round two of the Night Styles Series is scheduled for next Thursday evening at The Meadowlands, with the $60,000 (est.) slated for Thursday, March 12.
