Jim Wise, director of Marketing Pocono Downs, has commented on the announcement to have the Pennsylvania track offering night racing after a three-year hiatus
.
Effective April 1, the five-eighths mile track will offer 6:30 p.m. first race post times on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Live Saturday cards will retain afternoon statuses.
"[The starting time] is early enough that people will be able to get out and enjoy themselves but still be able to get home early enough,” Wise was quoted as saying in an article in an article on timesleader.com.
“We think it’s going to be really good for some of our long-standing patrons,” Wise said.
