Muscle Dynasty won the $25,000 Open Trot at Bally's Dover on Tuesday evening (Feb. 21), recording a new lifetime mark in 1:53.2.
Northern Express and Embrace The Grind battled for the early lead to the opening quarter in :27.2, but Embrace The Grind prevailed. As Embrace The Grind led the field to the half in :55.2, Muscle Dynasty (Corey Callahan) pulled first over from fifth. Muscle Dynasty challenged the leading Embrace The Grind as they reached the three-quarters in 1:24.1. At the top of the stretch, Muscle Dynasty took the lead and drew clear to win by 1-1/2 lengths. Northern Express (Russell Foster) finished second and Embrace The Grind (Tony Morgan) faded to third.
Shea Lare trains Muscle Dynasty, who paid $9 to win, for owner Frank Chick.
Callahan led all drivers with four wins on the 12-race card while driver Ross Wolfenden and trainer Jim King Jr. notched triples.
Racing at Bally's Dover continues on Wednesday (Feb. 22) featuring Majorca N challenging Incaseyoudidntknow and Divine Deo in the $25,000 Mares Open Handicap Pace. First post is at 4:30 p.m.
