Sheezgotdawoogies wired a compact field of five Open pacing mares to win Sunday afternoon's $10,500 feature event at Fraser Downs.
The six-year-old No Pan Intended mare was driven by Brandon Campbell for the Jim Marino stable and she notched her second Open victory of the year.
Making her fifth start of the season off a two-week layoff, Sheezgotdawoogies crossed in front of her rivals from the outside post position and carved out fractions of :28, :59.2 and 1:28.3 en route to the 1:58 triumph. She returned $5.40 for a $2 Win ticket as the 8-5 bettors' choice.
Drawing Dead (David McKellar) followed two and a half lengths behind off a pocket trip and just edged Marino stablemates Just One More (Marino), the passing lane pursuer, and Wrapped To Go (Paul Davies), who closed off cover. Prairie Illusion (Carl Sibiga) rounded out the field after a failed first over bid from the backfield.
Sheezgotdawoogies now has 12 wins from 84 starts lifetime and earnings totalling $94,107.
