The Ontario Standardbred Adoption Society was out in full force Monday, February 20, Family Day at the Western Fair District
.
As a report by the London Free Press explains, OSAS organizers had a pair of retired racehorses on site, and the good-natured equines couldn't have gone over any better with the crowd.
“Every time we drive by here (the WFD) he says he wants to go,” said Aaron Mattson, father of five-year-old Kaiden Mattson, who was able to meet a horse up-close and personal for the first time ever.
The Ontario Standardbred Adoption Society was at the track to allow families to get to know the horses a little better, and to possibly find new homes for some of the retirees.
“This is something that you wouldn’t do everyday,” said Jenn Campbell, who stated that her four-year-old daughter was excited to feed the two racehorses.
