One of Rideau Carleton Raceway's most consistent performers of 2009 notched his first win of the season at the Ottawa-area oval during the Sunday night's card of harness racing

Best Show In Town, who made all but one of 38 starts last year at the Preferred level or better, teamed with Stephane Brosseau for trainer Gerard Demers in Sunday's $14,000 Preferred Handicap. That tandem carved out splits of :28, :58 and 1:25.4 before closing his mile with a :28.4 quarter to trip the timer in 1:54.3. Favoured Aint No Hearsay (Guy Gagnon) finished just better than two lengths back in second with Priceless Edition (Shawn Steacy) in the show spot.

Owned by 9174 7998 Quebec Inc., of Blainville, Qc., Best Show In Town is a roan eight-year-old Grinfromeartoear - Ms Bellagio gelding with 45 lifetime wins and over $400,000 in lifetime earnings.

Trainer Richard Moreau recorded a three-bagger on the night, starting with back-to-back scores in Race 6 with Decisionsdecisions and followed by Pacific Warrior in Race 7. Stella Hall in Race 10 completed the hat trick for Moreau, who ranks in the top five among Canadian trainers for wins and earnings.

Not to be outdone, John MacMillan also notched a training hat-trick on a night when the Canadian Men's Olympic hockey team was in need of one. Allcanadian Rebel kicked off the triple in Race 2, followed by Legacy N Diamonds in Race 11 and Whitemountain Sexy in Race 13. All of MacMillan's wins came with driving ace Darrell Coville in the sulky.
