
Wehadababyetzaboy followed cover and steamrolled to victory in the $35,211 Open Handicap Pace at Bally’s Dover on Thursday (Feb. 20) night.
Adam Twelve (Corey Callahan) took control of the race through an opening quarter of 26.1 before continuing on a headstrong sprint passing the the half in 55. Captain Cowboy (George Napolitano Jr.) brushed first-over down the backstretch into the wind and freezing temperatures. Wehadababyetzaboy (Jason Green) was towed into a perfect second-over journey on the rim while the 7-5 betting favourite, Itsrockandroll A, waited patiently in the pocket. Adam Twelve continued on the engine, reaching the three quarters in 1:23.1 (28.1).
Wehadababyetzaboy swung wide and surged in the lane, getting the jump on Itsrockandroll A to prevail by a neck in 1:51.1. Adam Twelve held for the third posiiton after cutting the mile.
Wehadababyetzaboy (Sweet Lou) is trained by Chuck Grissman Jr. and owned by Evm Racing LLC of Middletown, Delaware.
Tim Tetrick drove five winners on the 13-race betting card to lead all drivers.
