Millionaire pacer Our Lucky Killean followed cover three-wide and powered to command over the popular Mach It Big down the backstretch en route to winning the $15,500 Preferred Pace at Western Fair Raceway on Monday

Driven by Robert Shepherd, Post 5 starter Our Lucky Killean, a winner in the Preferred-2 class last time out, settled away sixth early on in the Monday feature while Justalittleluck (Scott Young) took control of the seven-horse field from the inside starting spot.
Justalittleluck led the way past the :27.2 opening quarter mark before My Man Charley (J. Bradley Harris) made the first over sacrifice from third with Monster In Law (Paul MacKenzie), Mach It Big (J.R. Plante) and Our Lucky Killean following him to the outside as they raced in front of the grandstand.
Justalittleluck maintained the lead to the half in :57.2 with a host of rivals looming to his outside. Down the backstretch, Mach It Paid went three-deep along with Our Lucky Killean. Mach It Paid battled on top with Justalittleluck and My Man Charley in between as they raced by three-quarters in 1:26.3.
Mach It Paid eventually swept to command into the final turn while Our Lucky Killean rolled up alongside and struck the lead in the stretch. Our Lucky Killean sprinted home in :28.4 to prevail by more than one length in 1:55.4. Mach It Paid settled for second. Acceptable Risk (Trevor Henry), the longest shot on the board at odds of 21-1, rallied from last to show, finishing six and a half lengths behind.
Trainer Casie Coleman shares ownership of the winning 11-year-old gelding as part of the West Wins Stable of Cambridge, Ont. The Camluck-Our Emblem pacer, who has won half of his six starts so far this year, notched career win No. 51 and upped his bankroll to $1,453,295.
Our Lucky Killean paid $20.90 for the upset.
