Ridgeline, a winner in last week’s Open Pace, returned to Fraser Downs to star in the $13,000 Friday feature once again for trainer-driver Ed Hensley

.

Ridgeline and Lilsharkshooter (Jim Marino) fired off the gate with Cash Account (Serge Masse) to their inside and battled three-deep into the first turn. Ridgeline eventually dropped back leaving the top pair to duel in a blistering :26.3 first quarter.

Lilsharkshooter pressed on and secured the lead before the :55.2 half, but would have to face another challenge from Ridgeline, who advanced first up and looked the leader in the eye at the 1:23.4 third quarter mark. The 3-5 favourite pushed a neck in front and then pulled away down the lane to score in 1:52.2 by one and a quarter length.

Cash Account was the runner-up and Lil Dude Starrbuck (Scott Knight) came in third.

Ridgeline has won half of his six starts so far this season and has banked over $26,000 in earnings for the J J J Stables of Aldergrove, B.C. and Casandra Uppal of Blaine, Washington. The six-year-old Ironridge-Humming Strings gelding boasts 22 victories lifetime and $281,629 in earnings.
